Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • A travel advisor (previously called a travel agent) is your go-to resource person who researches travel options and books your next trip. A travel advisor assists with helping you choose a destination and finding the right accommodations to planning itineraries and managing your bookings.

As a FORA Travel Advisor, I belong to a community of travel advisors throughout the world. We help each other by sharing the most up-to-date travel industry knowledge with our clients.

If you have a busy life, travel planning and staying within budget can be time consuming. My Savvy Travel Advisor does the travel planning for you so you can have more time to spend with your loved ones.

  • When you hire a travel advisor, you get the VIP treatment—hotel room upgrades, free breakfasts, spa credits (if available), and onboard credits on cruises. You will also get a personalized itinerary based on your preferences.

Yes, you could go to a travel booking site online and do it all yourself. When you have questions about airport transfers to the hotel or "what are the must do things in X destination?" you will start searching travel chat forums which can be a chaotic process. It's a lot of time and effort spent online, reading opinions that may not necessarily be trustworthy or helpful. My Savvy Travel Advisor could get you all the answers instead of you doing endless searches online.

Are you busy with work and family obligations? Let My Savvy Travel Advisor take the stress out of planning your next vacation.

A good travel advisor is the key to a memorable trip by handling the small details like airport transfers and working with partners to ensure issues that arise are resolved during travel.

  • Through my global network of travel partners, I’m able to secure free VIP perks and amenities at over 5,00 hotels and cruise lines.

Some of these perks may include:

    daily complimentary breakfast

    resort / spa credit

    onboard credit on cruises

    complimentary wi-fi

    room upgrade (when available)

early check-in, late check-out (when available).

  • Possibly! If you made the travel reservation on your own, I could do a “takeover booking” to secure VIP perks for you. Some hotel partners allow me to update your booking to include my name as the “agent of record.”

Please reach out to discuss more, and as always, I’ll see what I can do for you.

  • As a Romance Travel Specialist, my travel niche is honeymoons and destination weddings.

As a travel advisor, I have access to many travel suppliers to plan and book your next dream vacation. Here are some examples of travel specialty bookings that I can help you with:

    • Anniversary trips

    • Cruises (international and domestic)

    • City explorations

    • Disney World / Disneyland / Universal Studios vacations

    • Wellness retreats

  • Ideally, as soon as possible!

The more time I have to work with you on your trip, the better it will be.

Even if you don’t know what dates you want to travel but you have a destination in mind, I can recommend a particular time when a special event is taking place you might not have known about.

    More time allows for:

    - more destination research

    - greater availability of accommodations

    - greater chance to get tickets for events and tours

    - obtaining a passport for international travel

  • No. Airbnb does not work directly with travel advisors.

  • In some cases, I can book your flights. However, I highly recommend that my clients book their own flights directly with the airlines themselves.

Not only will this allow you to use any reward miles / points you’d like to apply, but it will also prepare you to work directly with the airlines in the event of flight changes, which are far more frequent and immediate than changes to other bookings (e.g. accommodations) where I can assist you.

  • It depends on when and what you’d like to change. For certain reservations, I charge a $50 fee to make changes to the reservation.

Itinerary travel proposals include a certain number of revisions, after which you’ll be asked to confirm your itinerary before the booking begins.

  • I do not have a minimum booking requirement. I am as happy to work with clients who want to book a one-night trip as I am working with clients looking for a longer journey.

  • The initial 30 minute meeting online with My Savvy Travel Advisor is free.

Once you decide to hire me, I charge a NON-REFUNDABLE PLANNING FEE. This non-refundable planning fee must be paid in full prior to getting a price quote.

The planning fee is for the research and expertise of the travel advisor in curating a personalized itinerary.

For a Destination Wedding, the non-refundable planning fee is $1,000.

The planning fee is for my time and research that I work to create an itinerary for you.

  • In the event cancellations of accommodations and tours, the cancellation policy of the company (travel supplier) through which travel was booked through will be followed.

In addition, My Savvy Travel Advisor charges a $100 cancellation fee.

Travel insurance is highly recommended for all trips in the event changes or cancellations of bookings need to be made, which is something we can discuss on our consultation call.
